I spent 20 years building a career in tech. Jobs today reward people who think, to analyze, to optimize. But that made me miserable.
I wanted to make something meaningful. Something that moves people. I wanted to feel, not think. To be in touch with my body.
I’ve made changes big (moving to Bali) and small (choosing animated wallpapers that inspire me) that made a huge difference in my happiness. I feel more balanced and more alive.
I’m still early in this journey but I want to share what worked for me (and all the things that didn’t 🤦♂️ ).
I’m creating blog posts and videos to share everything I’ve learned.
What I explore
- How to tap into your creativity
- How to listen to your body
- How to find balance
- How to believe in yourself
Who this is for
- You work in tech and aren’t sure the industry is for you any more.
- You are always in your head and constantly overthinking.
- You crave a simpler life that moves more slowly.
- You don’t want to move another metric, you want to create something that matters.
Recommended first pieces
- Stop Thinking, Start Feeling - This advice sounds obvious but I spent most of my life thinking. I didn’t realize there was another way or that I could eventually find balance and use both my brain and my heart. Damn I feel so much better now.
- Tools Are a Distraction - I spent more time researching synthesizers than actually playing music. I convinced myself that a different surfboard was the key to unlocking the next level. Tools, YouTube videos... these are often just ways to avoid doing the damn thing.
- Social Thinkers vs Solo Thinkers - Some people think better out loud or in groups. Others are hermits that thrive in isolation. I think best on a long walk with a close friend who can help me go deep. Knowing this
